June 1, 2018: Our producer Paul Castro was invited to attend SciEd 2018 in support of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses’ Role Models project, which is a recipient of a NIH Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA). Angie Millan the project lead presented on various panels.
Out of the 3,000,000 registered nurses in the U.S., Hispanics represent only 3.6% even though Hispanics make up 17% of the U.S. population. Many Hispanic students and parents are not aware of the multiple opportunities that exist in the nursing fields.
For this reason we are working with NAHN and Hispanic Communication Network to produce a series of interviews featuring nursing students. You can find those interviews on NAHN's website Hispanic in Nursing. The Spanish language version of the site is Carreras en Enfermería.
