The Southwest Mind-Body and Integrative Medicine Conference takes place every year in October. The Purpose of the conference is to promote a culture of health and wellness in the El Paso, Juarez, New Mexico region by providing evidence- based training and education in holistic health and healing methods and modalities. The event is open to the public and seeks to promote and develop higher awareness of holistic and preventive self-care in the community. The event also serves the professional community by providing CEU’s approved by the state of Texas to Counselors and Social Workers.

In its first year, the conference drew mostly professionals from the Trans-Pecos Counseling Association and students seeking to further their understanding of Mind-Body and Integrative Medicine. In the past two years, two thirds of those attending were members of the general community and others were professionals in the teaching, counseling, social work, and health fields.

Based on the evaluations submitted by the participants, last year's conference was successful and highly rated. Feedback was extremely positive with many recommendations to continue holding this event.

Founding partner Trans-Pecos Counseling Association (TPCA) has over 100 members and is one of the principal resources in the area for professional development of Counselors.

El Paso OASIS Center for Accelerated Learning and Holistic Health is a health and wellness business and is also a founding partner of this initiative.

This year's conference will be held at Hilton Garden Inn in El Paso, Texas.
